Course description

• The course is organized along a basic one-day curriculum and several half-day, elective “deep dives” in specific areas of governance. The basic course will be offered 4 times over the period of a year starting in April 2021.

• The basic course focuses on all key elements of corporate governance: the role of the board in setting the purpose of the company and developing a sustainability culture, board governance responsibilities and effectiveness, board composition and the role of committees. Participants will be reviewing the Greek and EU legal and regulatory framework, investor expectations and corporate best practice.

• The half day “deep dives” will explore more in detail various important topics and perspectives such as board in family and entrepreneur-controlled companies, a closer look at how ESG matters are dealt by the board, trends in investor expectations, board process on strategy and risk oversight, board and audit committee oversight of internal control.

• All workshops are designed to be highly interactive with a practical orientation. They will be run by an international faculty with a vast track record in training corporate officers and a truly extensive and varied corporate governance experience. At least two members of the faculty also have a Greek legal background.
