Course description
• The course is organised along a basic one-day curriculum and several half-day, elective “deep dives” in specific areas of governance. The basic course will be offered 4 times over the period of a year starting in April 2021.
• The basic course focuses on all key elements of corporate governance: the role of the board in setting the purpose of the company and developing a sustainability culture, board governance responsibilities and effectiveness, board composition and the role of committees. Participants will be reviewing the Greek and EU legal and regulatory framework, investor expectations and corporate best practice.
• The half-day “deep dives” in October will explore in more detail various important topics and perspectives including on ESG/sustainability and the board, among others (subject to demand).
• Other deep dives topics, to be delivered through the course of the training cycle in January 2022, may include topics such as boards in family and entrepreneur-controlled companies, board process on strategy and risk oversight, and board and audit committee oversight of internal control among others.
• All workshops are designed to be highly interactive with a practical orientation. They will be run by an international faculty (see below) with a vast track record in training corporate officers and a truly extensive and varied corporate governance experience. Faculty will have good knowledge of the Greek regulatory environment and corporate practice.
